Dixie Dude Ranch | Texas

Dixie Dude has a number of different styles of accommodation available. There are 19 separate units within duplex cabins, cottages, a two-story “Bunkhouse” and lodge rooms.

All have private baths, air conditioning, vented heat and a few have fireplaces. Most units are spacious family-type rooms with two or more beds. Some units are designed for one or two persons. Wi-fi is NOT available in most rooms, but you may access it any time in the Ranch Headquarters. The deluxe cabins are more spacious than the standard rooms and have extra amenities, including televisions, microwaves, coffee makers and a small refrigerator.

You’ll eat healthy, hearty, Texas-sized meals prepared for you three times a day. Meals are served family-style in the friendly atmosphere of the Lodge, they also have outdoor barbecues and cowboy breakfasts out on the range.

The ranch scenic rides wind and climb all over the rugged and unspoiled acres of the ranch. There you will find beautiful views of the surrounding Texas Hill Country, the opportunity for overnight trail rides may also be a possibility. Dates vary so please enquire if this is of interest.

Within the guest ranch package, the following will apply: The rides last approximately an hour and are guided by experienced Cowboys and/or Cowgirls. There is a 260 lb (18.5 stone) weight limit, Children under age 6 may ride double with an adult, riding lessons and clinics are also available for an additional charge.

Please note due to local legislation, horseback rides are taken out at a walk.

At the ranch there is a large pool as well as a small toddler and baby pool. The swimming pool is heated during the months of March, April and October but it is closed from November to February. However there is a 6-person hot tub that is open year round

The ranch has a several Registered Massage Therapists available for massages. Advance notice is required and please note,  these therapists accept cash from overseas visitors.

If you have the opportunity to take part,  the extra evening riding is well worth while, they ride a bit faster than during the day which is why its only offered to adults and teenagers. Its well worth the extra cost.

There is catch-and-release fishing, nature hiking into the surrounding hills, fossil/arrowhead hunting, and outdoor yard games like table-tennis, volleyball, a basketball court, horseshoes, and washer pits.
