The Stanley Hotel | Estes Park, Colorado

The Stanley Hotel is a magnificent, grand hotel located close to the spectacular Rocky Mountain National Park and is well known as the inspiration for Stephen King’s classic novel “The Shining”. Mixing old-world charm with stunning views, modern amenities and elegant rooms. The Stanley is the perfect base from which to explore the Rocky Mountain National Park.

The hotel itself is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well as being a member of the Historic Hotels of America, and has a history of being one of the most haunted hotels in America, hence why it proved such inspiration for Stephen King. For those interested in the supernatural, take part in one of the hotels ghost tours or get a psychic consultation from ‘Madame Vera’. With a range of dining options at the hotel at the Cascades Restaurant and the Steamers Café, as well as a large selection of whisky’s and spirits available at the designated Whisky Bar. The on-site sculpture garden is well worth a visit, offering some interesting designs and amazing views. There are also plenty of activities in the local area to keep you occupied such as golf, hiking and fishing.

Rooms

There are many different, elegantly appointed rooms at The Stanley and most rooms feature comfortable furnishings, flat screen TV’s and complimentary wireless Internet access. Air conditioning is not available any rooms.

Historic Rooms – These classically designed, cosy rooms are some of the smallest at the hotel and feature either queen or double beds.

Classic Rooms – Simply designed rooms that have Queen, King or two Queen beds.

Aspire Rooms – Modern, well decorated rooms offering great mountain views that offer King size beds, Jacuzzi tubs and custom handmade bedding.

Suites – Spacious suites that offer King or Queen beds with beautiful views.

Haunted Rooms – There are a variety of rooms at The Stanley that have reported ‘paranormal activity’ within their walls. Limited availability.

Condos – Choose a one, two or three bedroom condominium with full kitchens, garages and spectacular mountain views.

The Lodge at The Stanley – is the newly-remodeled 40-room boutique hotel adjacent to The Stanley Hotel. Previously known as The Manor House, The Lodge features complimentary breakfast and a relaxing guest lounge.
