Marshall Slocum Inn is a charming, Colonial era bed and breakfast located in the heart of Newport, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, mansions and the harbour and beaches.

The Inn has over an acre of manicured grounds, a large deck area at the back overlooking the gardens, and front porch to relax on. Every morning a full breakfast is served, from an ever changing selection of menus, including New England favourites such as pancakes, omelettes and French toast.

Rooms

Postcard Room – Situated high up in the Inn, with treetop views, this room has a queen size bed, private bathroom with shower and is decorated with antiques.

The Bostonian – Featuring a queen size brass bed and re-modelled marble bathroom with shower, The Bostonian has its original 150 year old wood floor.

Captain’s Quarters – The oversized bay window is a beautiful feature of this elegant room that also has a queen size canopy bed, wood floors and a whirlpool tub.

Rose Room – With decor inspired by Newport’s Gilded Age, this romantic room has a king size bed, gas fireplace, private bath with shower and large sky light.

Slocum Room – A lovely light room with three large windows that overlook the Inn’s grounds. The room has a queen size canopy bed and a comfortable reading area.

New York to Toronto – 2015 (Smith)

I have just returned from a tailor made holiday made possible by Jeannette Dembrey. This was the first time I had ever organised such a major holiday and as it was a gift for my children after my retirement it was really important to get things right. I went to quite a few agencies but Jeannette was way better than any of the people who I spoke to. She was so professional and wanted me to get the best from the money I could afford. The holiday was absolutely amazing and everything went like clockwork. Jeannette had thought of everything even the connections between places and the things we would do in each town. We stayed in 6 hotels altogether starting in New York and ending in Toronto. I am amazed at how smoothly it went. Even my son who has travelled all over the world was impressed with the way things had been organised. I cannot praise Jeannette enough for her professionalism. Thank you Jeannette.
