A luxury hotel which first opened in 1886 and has been the place to stay in New Orleans since then. It sits at the bottom of Royal Street in the French Quarter and is full of fabulous European antiques, oriental rugs and antiquities from around the world.
Rooms
570 luxurious rooms and suites have everything you need for a very comfortable stay including a Keurig coffee brewer and marble and granite bathrooms. The suites vary but many of them have sofa beds, separate glass showers and a Garden Jacuzzi Tub. Many authors have stayed in or written about the Monteleone and they are honoured with their own suites, so you could choose the Tennessee Williams Suite or the Ernest Hemingway Suite.
The renowned Criollo Restaurant is housed in the hotel as is the famous Carousel Bar & Lounge with its revolving bar named by Vogue Living as one of the Top 20 Bars in the World.
