One of only two Aman Resorts in the US, the Amangani, (which means peaceful home) just outside Jackson Hole, is the perfect place to explore the Grand Teton Mountains. Unusual for an American country resort, the Amangani is a fusion of cultures, its minimalist design is inspired by its Asian roots and yet it uses plentiful amounts of local stone and wood to evoke the atmosphere of its geographical position on the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte, some 6500 feet above sea level. It has glorious views over the Snake River Mountain Range which just invite you to explore the area.
Aman Resorts’ ambition is to offer guests an experience that is both intimate and discreet while providing the highest level of service. Each resort and setting is unique, but certain elements characterise all of them – a beautiful natural location, outstanding facilities, exceptional service and a small number of rooms to ensure exclusivity and privacy. The Amangani certainly lives up to these high aspirations. Despite the pleasures of the hotel, to visit the Tetons is to explore the outside. Winter time brings superb skiing but during the rest of the year there is much to explore. In spring and summer, the wildflowers are at their best and can be enjoyed on both mountain and valley hiking trails. Wildlife abounds, from black bears and grizzly bears to bison, elk, mule deer, moose, pronghorn and coyote. Wildlife safaris led by biologist guides tour the best viewing sites. More than 300 species of birds, from bald eagles and mountain bluebirds to trumpeter swans and sandhill cranes, can be found in Jackson Hole alone. For fly fishermen, the Snake River is a haven for the local cutthroat trout, as well as rainbow, lake and brown trout. The Snake River is also renowned for scenic and white-water rafting, canoeing, kayaking and other water sports. The Tetons provide some of the best climbing in the US, mountain biking is big sport in both in the Park and in the adjoining national forests where single track trails are extensive. Frontier America highly recommends a hot-air balloon rising above Jackson Hole as an amazing start to a summer’s day. Golfers have two 18-hole championship courses to choose from and there is a rodeo in Jackson twice a week throughout the summer.
At the end of a busy day, you will need sustenance. The Grill and Bar will not disappoint. A 65-seat dining room open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The redwood-panelled walls and ceiling, specially-commissioned artwork, a wood-burning fireplace and magnificent views of the mountains lend a mood of stylish comfort. The Grill specialises in local, sustainable ranch meats, fresh fish and seasonal farm to table produce. Nothing is too much trouble, a Picnic lunch can be prepared for you given a bit of notice.

J Smith - Travelled New York to Toronto
I have just returned from a tailor made holiday made possible by Jeannette Dembrey. This was the first time I had ever organised such a major holiday and as it was a gift for my children after my retirement it was really important to get things right. I went to quite a few agencies but Jeannette was way better than any of the people who I spoke to. She was so professional and wanted me to get the best from the money I could afford. The holiday was absolutely amazing and everything went like clockwork. Jeannette had thought of everything even the connections between places and the things we would do in each town. We stayed in 6 hotels altogether starting in New York and ending in Toronto. I am amazed at how smoothly it went. Even my son who has travelled all over the world was impressed with the way things had been organised. I cannot praise Jeannette enough for her professionalism. Thank you Jeannette. I would recommend you to anyone with the satisfaction of knowing that you did an amazing job. Thank you.
