The Circle Bar Guest Ranch is an historic guest ranch that dates back to the 1800s in central Montana. Nestled in the heart of Montana’s breathtaking Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, the ranch offers an unforgettable adventure for all ages.

A holiday at Circle Bar Ranch in Montana offers a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and Western charm. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, guests can enjoy horseback riding on scenic trails, hiking, fishing, UTV tours, and even cattle drives.

Accommodations range from historic cabins to lodge rooms, all providing cozy comfort with modern amenities. Hearty, home-cooked meals are served in a communal dining setting, fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Whether you’re looking for thrilling activities or relaxation under Montana’s big skies, Circle Bar Ranch offers an authentic ranch experience for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

Stay in one of the historic cabins or a room in the main lodge. The 9 historic cabins are fitted for modern comfort. Some feature a fireplace, living area, and/or a wet bar. These cabins provide scenic views of the ranch and surrounding landscape. Stay in one of 3 Buffalo Rooms in the main lodge which are are ideal for couples. Two rooms are furnished with king beds, while the Buffalo Suite includes both a king and a twin bed. ​

Dining at the Circle Bar Ranch is communal and integral part of your experience. Enjoy home-cooked, American-style meals featuring a variety of dishes including pancakes, steaks, and fresh trout.

Circle Bar Ranch provide two rides per day, except on Sundays when horses rest in the afternoon. Riders are matched with horses suited to their skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. There are slow rides that are ideal for beginners or those seeking a leisurely pace, these rides are open to guests aged 5 and above. There are also fast rides for more experienced riders, these sessions include trotting and loping. Guests must first complete a slow ride and demonstrate adequate control before participating. Fast rides are available a few times per week and are open to guests aged 8 and above.

You can ride mountain terrains, open fields, and cross the Judith River. Popular destinations include the local Elk Preserve and Porcupine Ridge, which is often the site of breakfast cookouts. With access to the adjacent 2.8 million acres of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, riders have endless trails to explore under Montana’s expansive skies.

Other than horse riding, you can enjoy fishing in nearby rivers and streams, hiking the numerous trails that wind through the ranch and surrounding forest, archery and shooting, UTV Tours to explore the expansive terrain, including visits to nearby caves for spelunking adventures. ​

Also enjoy the facilities at Circle Bar Ranch that include an indoor hot tub, a historic barn for evening entertainment, and a recreation room equipped with games like ping pong and horseshoes.
