  • What is the Minimum Rental Age?

    You must be at least 21 years old to rent a motorhome. All drivers must have a valid and identifiable driver’s license. A driver’s license and a valid credit card are required as identification and will be verified. All drivers must be identified, authorized, and must sign the Rental Contract. There is no cost for additional drivers and no ‘under 25’ surcharge.

  • Can I travel into the Canada with my rental vehicle?

    Yes. However you do need to return to the US to return your vehicle as one ways into Canada are not allowed. Please also note that U.S. Customs will not allow fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and other groceries across the border.

  • How many people can travel in each motorhome?

    This depends on the vehicle type. The number of people able to travel in each motorhome is dependent upon the number of seatbelts provided.

  • Can you rent child seats?

    No, you are responsible for providing your own child restraint seats. Cruise America and Cruise Canada do not provide child restraint seats.

  • What is a Personal & Vehicle Kit?

    This includes bedding, linen, cooking wares, dishes and cutlery and is per person. This is usually included in your rental price and should be mentioned on the quote/invoice.

  • Are bike rentals available?

    Unfortunately no.

  • How many drivers are included in the rental?

    One driver is included in the rental. There is no charge for additional drivers but must be added to the reservation.

  • When can we pick-up the vehicle?

    The pick-up time of our vehicles are from 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm from Monday to Saturday. Some locations are open Sunday.

  • How long will a pick-up process take?

    From the time you arrive until you leave the station, it may take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. Allocating this amount of time ensures that all your questions can be clearly answered, and that you are fully aware of how to operate your vehicle before you leave on your trip.

  • What happens if I have a breakdown while renting the motorhome?

    For concerns that you may have, whether mechanical breakdowns, service problems or holiday disruption, you MUST call the (800) 334-4110 number. A call to the departure rental center is not recommended. Please note that availability of a toll-free number for Travelers Assistance on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis is unique to Cruise America. If you call Travelers Assistance, you should have the Renter Assistance Guide in hand. The Travelers Assistance representative will refer to specific pages within the guide.

  • What is the security deposit at pick-up?

    A basic refundable security deposit of $500 USD/CDN and the use of a credit card to pay for all local charges and deposits is required at departure. Upon vehicle return, all extra charges are balanced against the security deposit and a credit will be issued to cover the refund. Cash is not accepted for security deposits or any additional charges at departure.

  • What Insurance is included?

    AUTO LIABILITY In both the United States and Canada, the company provides Auto Liability coverage for you on a secondary basis for bodily injury, property damage and personal injury protection (PIP) as required by the laws of the state or province in which an accident may occur, for claims made against you and/or authorized drivers. The liability coverage is void if the rental vehicle is not operated safely in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and in compliance with all Terms & Conditions of the Rental Agreement.

    In addition, USA and Canada rentals INCLUDE Supplemental Liability Insurance providing excess liability insurance up to $500,000, for your peace of mind.

    YOUR DAMAGE RESPONSIBILITY – As a result of including insurance in the pre-paid rate, Cruise America have been able to vastly improve both the coverage for you and the simplicity of the transaction. You only have responsibility for up to $2,500 deductible per incident regardless of fault for vehicle loss or damage per occurrence, provided you abide by the Terms & Conditions of the Rental Agreement, report promptly in case of an accident or vehicle damage, and avoid prohibited uses.

    Cruise America and Cruise Canada also offer a product to called “Zero Damage Plan.” Zero Damage Plan (ZDP) can be purchased at the rental counter and enables renters to reduce their responsibility for loss of or damage to the vehicle from $2,500 to zero ($0). ZDP provides peace of mind to many clients that have expressed an interest in an option for further reducing their damage responsibility while on rent. The current price is $19.95 per day up to a maximum of 30 days ($598.50). For longer rentals there is still coverage but no additional daily fee.

  • Will I be charged if I drop my rental vehicle off late?

    A late drop-off charge will be charged if the vehicle is not returned on or before the drop-off time stated in your rental agreement.

  • May I smoke in the vehicle?

    No. If cigarette smoke is detected in the unit at drop-off, a defuming and sanitizing charge will be applied.

  • Are we permitted to tow anything?

    No.

  • Can I put a canoe or other objects on the roof of the vehicle?

    No.

  • How long will the drop-off process take?

    Beginning at 9:00 AM (0900 hours) up to 11:00 AM (1100 hours). If you have a late drop-off, this will be noted on your Rental Agreement and, in this instance, you may return your vehicle anytime before 15:00. As long as the vehicle is returned in a clean, undamaged condition with all equipment and/or convenience kits returned (and holding tanks emptied), the drop-off takes approximately ½ hour.
