Amangiri, which means ‘peaceful mountain’, is located in Southern Utah. This luxury resort is nestled in a protected valley with amazing views towards the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument. The resort is a short drive from the nearest town of Page, Arizona and an even shorter drive to the shores of Lake Powell.
The resort has been architecturally designed to blend into the landscape with natural hues, materials and textures all sympathetic to the beautiful surroundings. Everything has been designed to provide an intimate setting from which to view and appreciate the landscape.
At the centre of the resort is the Pavilion, with dramatic views of rock formations and the swimming pool to one side and panoramic vistas to the other. The swimming pool is set within a sunken courtyard and wraps around the rock to finish with a hot tub that sits at the base of a rock wall. Around the pool is the lounging terrace where you will find daybeds that appear to float on water!. Next to the hot tub is the campfire pavilion which is an inviting nook for lounging and relaxing.
The spa at Amangiri typifies the luxury to be found at this special resort. It covers 25,000 square feet and provides a serene setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. The entrance itself is reminiscent of nearby rock canyons and takes you into a reception and peaceful lounge area featuring a glass tiled, sky-lit reflection pool and a central fireplace. A key feature of the spa is the Water Pavilion where large wooden doors pivot to reveal an outside area containing a stone-lined step pool with magnificent desert views. Cushioned seating is found on a terrace rising on three sides to blend with the rock face. Refreshingly cool in summer, the pool is heated in winter. You can also make use of the steam room, dry sauna and cold plunge pool beyond the reception area.
