After taking off your cowboy boots, head into the National Parks and explore the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and The Petrified Forest – all before ending up with a few nights in Scottsdale for a few more activities or to simply relax.

Fly into Las Vegas on the direct flight from Heathrow Gatwick or Manchester and spend the next few days acclimatizing to the dry heat and the 8 hour time difference and taking in the madness and fun that is Las Vegas. We suggest you opt to stay in hotel located central strip to make life easier to explore. The Bellagio and its fountains, the elegance of the Wynn hotel or experience the gondolas of Venice at The Venetian.

Only 2 hours south of Las Vegas and 2 hours from the Grand Canyon West Rim then you’ll have escaped the crowds of Vegas and instead be surrounded by incredible nature at this family friendly dude ranch designed to get you a glimpse into the old west whilst enjoying the beautiful Arizona desert. Set up like a little Western town, Stagecoach dude ranch will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time living the life of a true cowboy. Bring your cowboy boots and cowboy hats and see what it is like to live the western way of life.
All levels of riding experience are catered for, from slow scenic rides among the cactus landscape, for beginners to rotting and loping in the desert washes and for the experienced riders – always keeping the group size to no more than 7 people. No long nose to tail trains, you get to experience a unique small private feeling ride. The ranch borders over 360,000 acres of l western desert at the foot of the Mohave and Hualapai mountains, ensuring breath taking views, spectacular sunrises and sunsets and almost constant sunny days.
You’ll be settled into your modern cabin accommodation and meet with the family at the Frontier Lodge. You set the pace of the holiday – daily riding or perhaps an afternoon of relaxing by the pool or trying out the shooting range, or you may want to hire an ATV. You’ll be matched up with a horse and given time to get to know each other and ensure it’s a match to ensure a successful stay.

As you leave the Grand Canyon by route 64 you’re heading east to Kayenta and Monument Valley, perhaps the most photographed landscape in all America. The monoliths and buttes have been a favourite Hollywood backdrop for over 80 years and you are bound to recognise some scenes. Monument Valley is still a traditional Navajo Indian homeland and although limited vehicular access is now allowed, unaccompanied back country hiking and biking is not. Please note that alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Navajo lands. Spend a night in Kayenta, at the famous Goulding’s Lodge or camping in a hoga.

Petrified Forest National Park is a high-desert geologic treasure chest. You’ll see loads of petrified wood, not to mention eye-popping views of The Painted Desert, which sweeps through the park. Spend the night in Holbrook, just off Route 66 and outside the Petrified Forest NP at The Wigwam Motel or continue on to Pinetop Lakeside.
