Depart Chicago aboard Amtrak’s Empire Builder.
Make your own way to Chicago’s historic Union Station to meet your tour manager, and board the famed Empire Builder for your overnight trip to East Glacier Park. Take your seat and enjoy the stunning scenery as you pass. Milwaukee, the Mississippi River, Minneapolis and Lake Michigan.
You will spend this first night on the train. Meals on the train are included if you upgrade to private sleeping accommodation.

Glacier National Park
As you awaken this morning you will be nearing Minot, North Dakota for a 30 minute rest stop before travelling over the spectacular Gassman Coulee Trestle. Then you will head towards Montana and the stunning scenery of Glacier National Park.
Glacier Park is famed for having more than 25 different glaciers, 130 lakes, 200 waterfalls and glorious scenery.
You will spend 4 nights at either Glacier Park Lodge or Grouse Mountain Lodge.
Day 1
This morning you will board a vintage open-top Jammer Bus for a tour of the park. You will be taken along the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road and across the Continental Divide. There will be a stop at the historic Lake McDonald Lodge for lunch and some time on your own to explore. When you return to your hotel you will have the rest of the day for your leisure.

Day 2
This day begins with a trip to the area of Glacier National Park, appropriately named Many Glacier surrounded by the tall peaks of the Lewis Range. You will discover Lake Sherburne and a town dating back to the early 1900s. The waterfalls, lush scenery and hiking will certainly appeal to nature lovers and photographers. Next up is a boat trip on Swiftcurrent Lake where you may well encounter some local wildlife on the shores followed by lunch at Many Glacier Lodge.

After breakfast, you will depart Glacier National Park and start the scenic drive to Yellowstone National Park. Your route will take you through Lewis and Clark country, into Madison Canyon Gorge and past Quake Lake into the West Entrance.
2 nights at Yellowstone National Park at either Grant Village or Canyon Lodge.
You will spend the day exploring one of America’s most famous National Parks with a guided tour that takes in some of its most well-known sites including the Upper and Lower falls, Hayden Valley, Old Faithful, Fountain Paint Pot and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

Spend 2 nights in Jackson Hole
You will embark on a float trip down Snake River which will give you a unique perspective to admire the mountain ranges, forests and wetlands where sightings of bison, elk and moose are common. Departing Jackson Hole, you will visit the National Oregon/California Trail Centre in Montpelier, Idaho. The centre is located at a former rest stop for pioneers and will give you the opportunity to step back in time to the 1850’s including a simulated wagon train, before heading off to Salt Lake City for the night. You will arrive in time to explore the Mormon buildings in Temple Square and see the impressive Utah State Capitol.

This was the first time I had ever organised such a major holiday and as it was a gift for my children after my retirement it was really important to get things right. I went to quite a few agencies but Jeannette was way better than any of the people who I spoke to. She was so professional and wanted me to get the best from the money I could afford. The holiday was absolutely amazing and everything went like clockwork. Jeannette had thought of everything even the connections between places and the things we would do in each town. We stayed in 6 hotels altogether starting in New York and ending in Toronto. I am amazed at how smoothly it went.
