A personal letter from Frontier America’s founder, Sandra Potter

When I first arrived in America many years ago, I couldn’t have imagined how much it would shape my love for travel. That whirlwind six-day introduction was a blur of unforgettable sights and sounds: the energy of New York, the majesty of Washington, and the stunning landscapes of the West. It was my first glimpse into a vast, diverse, and endlessly captivating land—a place that continues to surprise me, even after decades of exploration.

As 2025 approaches, my connection to America feels stronger than ever. Next year marks the lead-up to the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations, making it the perfect time to immerse ourselves in its story. This isn’t just about fireworks and parades (though there will be plenty of those!); it’s about rediscovering the spirit of a nation—its frontier legacy, historic accomplishments, and vibrant communities.

At Frontier, we believe America is more than a destination—it’s an experience crafted uniquely for every traveller. From the open roads of the West to the soulful music trails of the South or the autumn hues of New England, we take pride in tailoring explorations that are not just memorable but truly transformative.

We had a wonderful holiday -we thoroughly enjoyed it all. We were impressed with all the arrangements and organisation you did for us especially linking the ferries and the train which could have been tricky. We had no complaints about any of the hotels or activities – all worked extremely well. Thank you to Joanne Moores for doing such a great job planning it all for us. Returned, just over a week ago, from a fantastic two(ish!) week trip to California! Jeanette planned our trip brilliantly! From San Fran to Yosemite to Monterey to Santa Barbara to LA to San Diego and then home! Highly recommend using Frontier to help make your dreams come true!! Joanne Moores was AMAZING!! During the planning it felt she knew what we wanted better than what we did! We saw/did everything off our (long) bucket list, it was an incredible, once in a lifetime holiday!! We kept on putting it off, hoping to find some time to plan our trip one day but months turned to years and I fear we simply wouldn’t have gone if we hadn’t reached out to Joanne which now we’ve been, would be a total tragedy!! Just give them a call, you won’t regret it!!! xx

Joanne Moore was the absolute best agent for arranging my trip! I have dreamt of going to Montana my whole life and I had a huge wishlist for the trip. I had a really bad start to the year and knew that I needed this trip. I phoned Frontier and spoke to the lovely Jo, I gave her my long wishlist and budget and she just jumped to it! The most hassle free trip I have organized or not as it were, Jo was always at the end of the phone and whenever I called to see if I could add things on to the trip, nothing was ever too much trouble, she always settled my nerves as this was a solo trip and I often called her in the weeks leading up to my trip. We stayed in touch during the trip and it was everything I ever dreamed of, the places I stayed were wonderful, the scenery was breathtaking. The best part of my trip was definitely the ranch stay at Circle Bar ranch where I made some life long friends. I had my own cabin, we had 3 meals a day in the main dining room, it was rustic, wholesome and idyllic. I went on two rides a day as well as participating in other activities and had drinks and s'mores by the fire in the evening. I also went to Whitefish which was lovely and all the accomodation Jo booked for me was brilliant. I went to Glacier national Park, Yellowstone National Park and glamped in Paradise Valley (very deserving of its name), Yellowstone was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend getting to a point in the park called Lamar Valley for dawn to see all the native bears, wolves and buffalo. From there i went to Cody for the rodeo and finally onto South Dakota for 2 nights as the last leg of my trip to see Mt Rushmore with many stops on the way including the Battle of Little Big horn and the Badlands National Park. I couldn't have arranged the trip better myself! Thank you so much to Jo and Frontier Travel.

We had the most amazing time in Canada thanks to Joanne and the team at Frontier Canada. All hotels were in great locations to explore the areas and had good facilities. The Canadian Train was a great experience. The Icefields Parkway and Columbia Icefields were brilliant, some lakes were still frozen in May so we never got to experience the blue waters of Lake Louise. The Rocky Mountaineer train was fantastic with amazing views, food drink were plentiful and staff on board were brilliant. I can't praise Frontier Canada enough, this was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Joanne enough in helping us plan the most phenomenal honeymoon! Joanne took so much time and care in listening to our wild ideas and making our trip such a success. Despite a few bumps in the road, namely my new husband forgetting his driving licence (on our fly-drive trip around BC) every experience was top notch. The highlights of our whale watching boat trips and champagne and caviar afternoon tea over looking the rockies will now always remind us of the most special start to our married life. Thank you, we are already discussing our next Canadian Adventure.

Very good travel agents. Dealt with my Canada plans very well. Thorough itinerary to give me a brilliant trip. One bad hotel which I advised shouldn't be used by them anymore ann received slight compensation. But out of 20 hotels over 7 wk that was the only issue- great service by Jeanette in UK. Would thoroughly recommend using for CANADA 🇨🇦

Absolutely superb service from Jeanette at Frontier Travel and I cannot offer my recommendation more strongly. Not only was her level of knowledge superb, she was full of ideas, suggestions and recommendations and - most importantly - no amount of tweaks to the itinerary [or questions] we're ever met with anything but patience and supreme professionalism. I was especially struck when she gently talked out of something and suggested an alternative she felt was "more me" - and cheaper. And, in the end, the trip delivered...and [so much] more. What a pleasure dealing with such a first-class tour operator and such a fantastic consultant.

Just back from Canada. Calgary stampede, banff horse riding,jasper icefields tour,rocky mountaineer train,vancouver and victoria whalewatching. Trip organised by Jeanette from Frontier travel was seamless. We had the best time and it couldn't have been done as well without them. Would 100%recommend to anyone who is organising a canada trip. Recently returned from a trip to Canada across the rockies and a cruise to Alaska. Jeanette and the team at Frontier Travel took our wish list and translated it into a fantastic itinerary and had some great ideas on how to enhance our holiday. They seem to know the great places to stop at and can work to accommodate your needs and budget. If you're usure on what you want to do and go exactly, but have a rough idea, these guys are able to turn that into a memorable experience.

After searching for two months for a ranch holiday backwards and forwards I had no joy with direct contact with ranches in the USA. I did a Google search and frontier travel popped up so I got in touch with them told them my requirements and within a couple of days, they gave me two options for ranches in Wyoming one of which was Blackwater Creek Ranch I dealt with Joanne. with all the correspondence and she sorted the holiday, the flights, the accommodation. took a lot of pressure off of me. The Blackwater Creek Ranch was first class for me just what I was looking for. and I would like to thank everyone, especially Joanne at frontier travel I would highly recommend this company and would always go back to them

This is the first time that we have used Frontier Ski and have just returned from a week skiing in Sun Peaks, British Columbia. Once we had decided on Sun Peaks, Michael’s recommendation of hotel, restaurants, ski runs and anything else to do with the resort was spot on. We found Michael’s blog extremely accurate and it enabled us to get the most out of the resort. We stayed at the Sun Peaks Grand which was ski in/out, right next to 2 chair lifts literally 30 seconds away. We cannot recommend Michael and Frontier Ski highly enough – everything was well organised, Michael was very responsive and provided a fantastic family holiday including flights, accommodation, lift passes and ski hire.

We have just returned from Panorama on our 8th Canadian ski trip with Frontier Canada and are now planning the 9th. We also used them for a trip to explore Bear Country in the wilds of BC which was amazing. Michael’s recommendations are always spot on and everywhere we have visited has been great. As with any snow related holiday, there have been occasional weather problems which Michael has always found the solution to, with a minimum of fuss.

We used frontier travel for our honeymoon to Canada and the experience from start to finish was fantastic. Jeanette was so helpful, very knowledgeable and was always very quick to respond. She organised the most brilliant day trips, fantastic hotels and lodges and was on hand when we needed to rearrange our rocky mountaineer trip due to the wildfires- completely removing the stress from the situation. We wouldn't have changed a thing about our honeymoon, it really was the trip of a lifetime and that's largely down to the excellent organisation from Jeanette. Thank you so much!

We have just returned from a great Canada trip to see the Grizzlies and Polar bears (as well as Whales, Birds and stunning scenery) Jeanette (our agent) organised a great trip , all of the admin worked, the lodges were stunning, and we saw and saw well all of the animals we wanted to see. We would have no hesitation using them again.
