Utah

Explore Utah:

Utah is an extraordinary varied state, with landscapes ranging from high-desert plateaus to alpine meadows and snow-covered peaks to bird-filled wetlands. Across all the varied terrain you’ll find five national parks, – the glorious Mighty 5® National Parks –  44 state parks, nine national monuments and two national recreation areas, making Utah ideal for travellers seeking non-stop outdoor adventure.

With 28 scenic byways of outstanding beauty covering over 2,200 miles, Utah is the ultimate road trip state.  Route 12  – which also has the rare designation of being an All American Road – which links the Red Canyon, Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce and the Kodachrome Basin is one of the most beautiful.

The Mighty 5® National Parks are a major draw to Utah but the spectacular buttes, mesas and natural bridges of Monument Valley are equally worthy of a visit. Most visited because of its history and culture, the area has been inhabited since about 1200 BC and you can learn about the cultures of the Pueblo and the Navajo Nation.

View the astonishing natural phenomena and experience great photo opportunities on a Utah fly-drive holiday, or revel in the hiking, mountain biking and rafting activities. State Parks such as Grand Staircase Escalante, Dead Horse Point or Goblin Valley will also all take your breath away.

Many of Utah’s state and national parks and monuments also feature night sky and astronomy programmes; thanks to Utah’s beautiful and vast landscapes, much of the state ranks very low in light pollution, allowing visitors to see the Milky Way and more than 7,500 stars on a clear night, whether in Central or Southern Utah or even close to Salt Lake City. Utah has the highest concentration of certified Dark Sky Parks to be found anywhere.

Well done. you triumphed again. Our trip to Utah went perfectly and we had an extraordinary experience with miles of hiking in amazing scenery. The accommodation was all first class and we especially loved Red Cliffs in Moab. Wonderful resort right on the Colorado. Many thanks.
