San Diego

California’s second-largest city, San Diego is an urban playground that oozes charm and blends modern with its preserved, historic heart. Old Town San Diego Historic Park has rustic Spanish-flavoured shops and restaurants while the downtown Gas Lamp Quarter is a 16-block National Historic District with restored 19th century buildings as well as an ultra-modern shopping centre.

Balboa Park is the city’s cultural centre and incorporates 16 museums and the celebrated San Diego Zoo. There is more family entertainment at SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo Safari Park and LEGOLAND, while north of the city are sandy beaches, surfing and world-class golf. An important US Navy base to this day, San Diego also has a strong historic association with the sea, evident in the maritime attractions at its Embarcadero waterfront.

La Jolla, set on a rocky promontory surrounded on three sides by the sea, is nicknamed the “Jewel of San Diego” and boasts glorious beaches.

There were a lot of highlights on the holiday and really unfair to pick one or two out but we had another great holiday with Frontier America.
