Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is the urban heart of Northern Utah, surrounded by mountains that rise to more than 10,000 feet and sitting on the shores of Great Salt Lake and Wasatch National Forest.

Salt Lake City reflects a remarkable combination of history, culture and recreation. Settled in 1847 by pioneers seeking an escape from persecution, the city is the centre of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the Mormons. Temple Square, which is where you will find the Salt Lake City Temple and Tabernacle (home of the famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir), is both beautiful and historically important. You can also visit the Family History Library, Museum of History and Art and Beehive House, all symbols of the industriousness and commitment of the original pioneer settlers.

There are regular flights from the UK to Salt Lake City and with most of the national parks within a 4-hour drive, the city is the gateway to Utah’s dramatic landscapes.

Well done. you triumphed again. Our trip to Utah went perfectly and we had an extraordinary experience with miles of hiking in amazing scenery. The accommodation was all first class and we especially loved Red Cliffs in Moab. Wonderful resort right on the Colorado. Many thanks.
