Peninsulas & The Coast

The Olympic Peninsula is dominated by the glorious Olympic National Park, a designated UNESCO* World Heritage Site with nearly one million acres of rain forest valleys, glaciers, alpine meadows, waterfalls and rugged coastline. The park is easily accessible by car ferry from Vancouver Island and Seattle as well as the picturesque Highway 101 which encircles the peninsula.

Olympic National Park encompasses several distinctly different ecosystems and protects a rich mosaic of natural and cultural history. Home to dozens of species of mammals and aquatic life, it’s not uncommon to see elk locking antlers, whales breaching the surface of the sea and salmon surging upstream.

Olympic offers endless possibilities for recreation, sightseeing, study and relaxation. At the heart of the peninsula you’ll find opportunities to hike through the temperate rain forest or climb towering peaks. On the western edge of the peninsula, enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean as you stroll past tidal pools and craggy tide-worn cliffs.

There is much to explore in and around the Park;  discover the northern section staying at either Lake Crescent or the town of Port Angeles and to the south, heither Kalaloch on the ocean or Lake Quinault. This will give you the chance to follow the Magical Misty Tour – otherwise known as the Olympic Peninsula Waterfall Trail. Some of the waterfalls require a long hike, others are easily accessible. One sight not to be missed is the Hurricane Ridge just outside Port Angeles, another is the Hoh Rain Forest.

New York to Toronto – 2015 (Smith)

I have just returned from a tailor made holiday made possible by Jeannette Dembrey. This was the first time I had ever organised such a major holiday and as it was a gift for my children after my retirement it was really important to get things right. I went to quite a few agencies but Jeannette was way better than any of the people who I spoke to. She was so professional and wanted me to get the best from the money I could afford. The holiday was absolutely amazing and everything went like clockwork. Jeannette had thought of everything even the connections between places and the things we would do in each town. We stayed in 6 hotels altogether starting in New York and ending in Toronto. I am amazed at how smoothly it went. Even my son who has travelled all over the world was impressed with the way things had been organised. I cannot praise Jeannette enough for her professionalism. Thank you Jeannette. I would recommend you to anyone with the satisfaction of knowing that you did an amazing job. Thank you.
