Mt Hood & Columbia River Gorge

Where Oregon’s tallest mountain meets the mightiest river, where you can hike among towering trees and waterfalls and enjoy farm-fresh feasts showcasing the season and where above all, you can enjoy the most spectacular sights; the views at the Gorge might just take your breath away.

Mt Hood is just an hour away from Portland and the regions offers cycling, hiking, rafting and, in the winter, the longest ski season. Visit or stay at the historic Timberline Lodge, atop the mountain for spectacular views into the valley, all year-round, or drive the Mt. Hood Scenic Byway to see the peak from a variety of vistas. Do visit the town of Boring which celebrates its unique name every August together with its twin, Dull, Scotland on Boring-Dull Day!

The Columbia River Gorge Gorge is made for exploring; walk along a waterfront, discover hidden waterfalls and enjoy the wildflowers at Rowena Crest. Challenge yourself with a trek up Dog Mountain and then treat yourself to a hand-crafted beer or a glass of wine; thanks to its unique geography, the Gorge boasts a world of wine, from pinot noir and chardonnay in the cool western hills, to tempranillo and syrah in the drier, sunnier east.

New York to Toronto – 2015 (Smith)

I have just returned from a tailor made holiday made possible by Jeannette Dembrey. This was the first time I had ever organised such a major holiday and as it was a gift for my children after my retirement it was really important to get things right. I went to quite a few agencies but Jeannette was way better than any of the people who I spoke to. She was so professional and wanted me to get the best from the money I could afford. The holiday was absolutely amazing and everything went like clockwork. Jeannette had thought of everything even the connections between places and the things we would do in each town. We stayed in 6 hotels altogether starting in New York and ending in Toronto. I am amazed at how smoothly it went. Even my son who has travelled all over the world was impressed with the way things had been organised. I cannot praise Jeannette enough for her professionalism. Thank you Jeannette. I would recommend you to anyone with the satisfaction of knowing that you did an amazing job. Thank you.
